Your Photographer for LIFE

Danielle Buoncristiani’s love of photography began in her high school yearbook darkroom, where watching an image slowly emerge on photographic paper first taught her the power of patience, timing, and connection. That early experience left a lasting impression — one that continues to shape the way she photographs people and places today.

While attending UC Davis and later earning her teaching credential from Chapman University, Danielle continued to study photography alongside her work with children. During her ten years as an educator, she founded a school yearbook program and was frequently asked to photograph families from her classroom community. When the time came to leave teaching and start her own family, a colleague once asked what her dream job would be. Danielle’s answer was simple: to become a full-time family photographer.

Since founding her business in 2000, Danielle’s dream has grown into a thriving portrait business built on trust, relationships, and storytelling. Buoncristiani Photography specializes in Generational, Family, and Life Milestone™ portraits, using natural light, beautiful outdoor locations, and a thoughtful, unhurried approach. By taking the time to truly get to know the people she photographs, Danielle creates images that reflect genuine connection and the unique story of each family.

As her own children have grown — her boys are now in college — Danielle has found her work expanding in new directions. Alongside her portrait photography, she now creates fine-art landscape and wildlife imagery through Seen In My Lens, a personal project rooted in travel, reflection, and connection to the natural world. This work, including her ongoing Alaska series, mirrors the same values that have always guided her portraiture: presence, patience, and storytelling through light.

For Danielle, family remains the foundation of life — a source of strength, grounding, and love. Photography allows her to pause time, preserving moments that so often pass too quickly. Whether photographing a family gathered together or a quiet scene in the wild, her goal is the same: to honor connection and create images that hold meaning long after the moment has passed.

Danielle continues to support her community through local involvement, leadership work, and creative collaboration. She photographs her own family every year, believing deeply in the importance of documenting life as it unfolds. Time moves quickly, seasons change, and stories evolve — and through photography, those moments can be held, remembered, and treasured.
