Heather launched GoodWorks HR LLC in December 2018 after over 16 years’ experience in human resource management in the Bay Area. After completing a Master’s degree in sociology at the University of Washington in Seattle, she moved to San Francisco, where she served as the regional director of a national organization which helped disadvantaged youth in the federal Job Corps program transition into adulthood and also launched an innovative Bay Area program, Jobs for Youth (now under the Youth Opportunities pathway at United Way of the Bay Area).
Her next position was at The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, the largest marine mammal hospital and conservation education organization in the world where she served as HR Director, growing the workforce from 35 to 70 and managing the volunteer force of over 1,200. She has also served as the HR Director at the San Francisco Art Institute and led short-term and interim operational and HR consulting assignments at the Private Industry Council of San Francisco and the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation. Currently, she serves as an outsourced HR leader and advisor at several small businesses and non-profit organizations.
